New Trier Township Government Hosts Conference Designed To Assist Businesses In Tapping Growing Disability Market

 

WINNETKA, April 27, 2010 - New Trier Township Government is hosting a conference designed to help business owners and their employees tap into the growing market of people with disabilities. The Business Builder – Disability Awareness Conference will provide information on how to interact with and make services accessible to people with disabilities, their families and friends. Local business owners will also share their experiences of the benefits of hiring persons with disabilities. Speakers for the conference include:
  • Barry Fleischer, Strategic Planning, Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago; Chairperson, New Trier Township Advisory Committee on Disabilities
  • Patricia B. Cantor, Supervisor, New Trier Township Government
  • Alan Goldberg, Trustee, New Trier Township Government
  • Jake Joehl, Self Advocate and Active Volunteer, JJ’s List
  • Robin Jones, Director, Great Lakes ADA and Accessible IT Center
  • Thomas Gilliland, Manager, Walgreens in Wilmette
  • Patty Evans, Owner, Lad and Lassie, Women's and Children's Clothing store in Wilmette
  • JJ Hanley, Founder of JJ’s list, a community driven website where people with disabilities rate businesses and services.
