New Trier Township Sponsors Preventive Health Care Screening

Lifeline Test

New Trier Township is collaborating with Life Line Screenings to provide their annual day of preventive health care screenings on Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at Winnetka Community House's Room 101. The Winnetka Community House is located at 620 Lincoln Avenue in Winnetka.
"Most people are unaware that stroke and vascular disorders are progressive diseases," noted New Trier Township Supervisor Patricia Cantor adding, "the health professional at Lifeline recommend yearly screenings, and we at New Trier Township appreciate the opportunity to bring these annual screenings to the Township."
Screenings are fast, painless and offered at low cost. They involve the use of ultrasound technology, and they scan for potential health problems related to: blocked arteries which can lead to a stroke, aortic aneurysms which can lead to a rupture, and plaque buildup in the arteries in the legs, which is a strong predictor of heart disease. Also offered for men and women is a bone density screening to assess their risk for osteoporosis. The screenings take about 90 minutes to complete. Lifeline’s complete Wellness package includes the Stroke/Carotid Artery, Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm, Ankle Brachial Index (hardening of the arteries, which is Peripheral Arterial Disease) and the Osteoporosis bone mass density screening. This Wellness package is $129.00. The Atrial Fibrillation screening (an EKG for an irregular heartbeat) is $149.
Appointments spaces are limited and pre-registration is required. To register, or form more information, call toll free to 1-888-653-6441.
