![]() | New Trier Township and The Grand Food Center Team Up For Food and Fund Drive Canned fruit, cereal, and laundry detergent were among the many items collected as New Trier Township and Grand Food Center joined together for a food and fund drive. Volunteers stood outside the Grand Food Store in Glencoe and Winnetka and handed flyers to shoppers with a list of needed items. Thanks to the community's generous support, approximately 250 bags of groceries and $250 in contributions were collected during the drive. View photos of the Summer Food Drive. Historically, the summer months are when the New Trier Township Pantry begins to see a decline in donations, yet the usage of the pantry remains the same. In some cases the needs can increase as families who receive assistance with the free lunch program during the school year no longer have access to that resource when school is not in session. Each week, when fully stocked, approximately 90 bags of groceries are distributed. The need continues. View a list of current priority needs. To get involved in the drive, or to coordinate your own drive, call 847-446-8203 or email the Community Services Administrator.
