Call 847-446-8203 or email Seniors Ride Free Program Senior citizens aged 65 and older living in the RTA service region are eligible for free transit on fixed routes operated by the Chicago Transit Authority, Metra and Pace. To take advantage of the free transit, seniors must have the senior reduced fare card. You may apply at the Township Office by bringing a photo ID car such as your driver's license, state ID, a passport or other official document bearing your birth date. In addition, a color photo (1.5 x 1.5) is required. If you already have a senior reduced fare card, you are automatically registered. For more information, call 847-446-8202. Three New Trier Township officials have graduated from the 2007 Township Officials of Illinois Leadership Academy program. Supervisor Patricia B. Cantor; Trustee Diane G. Fisher, Ph.D.; and Director of Administration and Finance Diane Tye were formally recognized at the Township Officials of Illinois Annual Conference in Springfield. The Leadership Academy, a joint venture of the Township Officials of Illinois and the Institute of Government and Public Affairs at the University of Illinois (IGPA), is a comprehensive leadership development program designed for Township officials and staff. The central focus of this program of study is critical thinking, problem solving, communications, planning, self-assessment and change. |
View Township Calendar County Prescription Drug Discount Card Available At Township Office Cook County, in partnership with Caremark and the National Association of Counties (NACo), introduced a new Cook County Prescription Drug Discount Card. This free card is available to all county residents and can provide significant savings on prescription drugs with no income requirements, no age requirements, and unlimited use for the whole family. The Township Officials of Illinois (TOI), an association of 1,400 Townships in Illinois, has awarded top honors - Message of the Year Award - to New Trier Township. The Township also was the winner of the Mighty Message Award for its news release program. The Message of the Year Award recognizes overall efforts to effectively communicate current Township issues to residents through outstanding communications initiatives and programs. The Mighty Message Award recognizes the Township's news release program that is designed to use a variety of tactics to reach residents, media, and service providers.
