Township Asks For Nominations of Outstanding Volunteers for Service Recognition
Do you know someone who has improved the quality of life for residents in New Trier Township through their volunteerism? New Trier Township would like to honor them. The Township is accepting nominations for two awards – the George E. Noyes Community Spirit Award and the Superior Service Award to Persons with Disabilities - that will be presented at the annual town meeting on April 10, 2012 at the North Shore Senior Center.

2011 Assessment Appeals
New Trier Township will tentatively open for 2011 appeals (for taxes payable in 2012) from May 18th to June 18th, according to the Cook County Assessor's office. This is NOT a triennial reassessment year. Only those who have made changes to their homes will receive reassessment notices. Our office will be able to provide assistance and comparables to residents wishing to appeal their assessments during that time.

New Trier Township Launches Grant Program to Fund Start-Up Social Service Projects
In a move designed to serve unmet social service needs of residents; New Trier Township government has introduced the New Trier Township Incubator Program (NTTIP). The rolling grant program will provide seed or start-up funding for individuals or groups with a new or novel idea designed to provide community based services to support seniors, youth, economically challenged families and persons with disabilities.

The numerous letters of recommendation for the 2011 George E. Noyes Community Spirit Award highlighted a lengthy list of community and school related projects in which Mimi Dray of Wilmette had been involved, but it was a personal letter of recommendation, written by her daughter Emily, that drew attention at the Annual Town Meeting in April when the Award was presented.
