Give Kids the Universe Through Reading
New Trier Township is working with the Village of Glencoe and the Winnetka Presbyterian Church to collect 3,000 children’s books between July 19- August 3, 2018 The recipient of the collection is Bernie’s Book Bank , a Lake Bluff based non-profit organization that sources, processes and distributes quality new and gently used children’s books to significantly increase book ownership among at-risk infants, toddlers and school-age children throughout Chicagoland. ​

The Valley Lodge Tavern is supporting the New Trier Township Food Pantry, a local resource for neighbors in need. Homeowners May Now Appeal 2018 Property Assessments
Cook County Assessor, Joseph Berrios, is now accepting appeals from New Trier Township property owners wishing to challenge their 2018 assessed property valuations. The deadline for filing an appeal with the Cook County Assessor is April 19, 2018. Appeals may be filed electronically on the Assessor’s website,, or in written form. If the appeal is submitted in writing, you must use the 2018 appeal form that is available on the Assessor’s website.

Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Applications-March 15th
New Trier Township and the North Shore Senior Center are providing help to eligible households wishing to apply for Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) grants. The assistance grants help keep families safe and healthy during severely cold Illinois winters. Unpaid 2016 Real Estate Taxes To Be Sold On May 4, 2018
The office of the Cook County Treasurer, Maria Pappas, has scheduled the sale of unpaid 2016 real estate taxes to begin May 4, 2018. The 1st Installment of 2016 taxes was due to be paid on or before March 1, 2017. The 2nd (and final) Installment was due August 1, 2017. Any part of the 2016 taxes that remain unpaid after May 3, 2018 will be immediately sold to tax sale investors at an auction beginning May 4, 2018.
