Program Guidelines & Frequently Asked Questions

Am I Eligible For Angel Fund Assistance?

New Trier Township residents who are facing an emergency financial challenge (shelter, utility or medical crisis), and who do not meet eligibility criteria for Emergency or General Assistance, may be eligible to receive assistance from the Township's Angel Fund.

What Is The Angel Fund?

The Angel Fund provides emergency monetary support to Township residents to pay for food, shelter, utilities, medical care and other necessities.

How Do I Apply?

Contact Social Services Administrator Jeanne Winsted Rosser at or 847-446-8201 for an appointment to have a confidential assessment of your eligibility. The Angel Fund application process involves a written application and submission of requested financial information to determine eligibility.

How Soon Can I Expect To Receive The Funds I Need?

The Township works to administer the Angel Fund in an expeditious manner. Disbursement of funds will depend upon an applicant's compliance with the application process, although every effort is made to process applications within 30 days of receipt of an applicant's request. Payment is made directly to vendors, for instance payment would be issued to the utility, landlord or the medical provider, depending upon the specific need. The Angel Fund does not make payments directly to an applicant.

Where Does The Angel Fund Money Come From?

The Angel Fund is supported solely by donations from private citizens, various faith groups, and a number of different civic organizations within New Trier Township. One hundred percent of the donated funds are used to assist those in need. There are no administrative costs. The Angel Fund is a registered 501(C)3 organization, therefore donations are tax deductible.
