What We Do

 The Township Assessor provides a variety of services and acts as a liaison between the taxpayer and the Cook County Assessor’s Office.

  • Detailed assessment information and property descriptions
  • Short legal descriptions of property
  • Property tax identification numbers
  • Assistance with name and address changes

  • Tax rate information

 The Cook County Assessor's office does all assessing in Cook County. Property is reassessed every three years. 

 Tax billing is done by the Cook County Treasurer's office. Taxes are collected one year in arrears, and bills are issued twice each year, in the spring and  fall.

New Trier Township Assessment Notices for 2018

Expected to be Mailed on March 16

The Cook County Assessor has announced a proposed date for mailing 2018 assessment notices: Friday, March 16, 2018. If this date does not change, we will begin assisting New Trier Township homeowners with filing appeals on Monday, March 19. If the schedule is revised, we will update this notice. You can reach the New Trier Assessor's office at (847) 446-8200. If I'm not available, please ask for Len Shifflett, Deputy Assessor.
