Bridge the Gap with Conney's Pharmacy is a partnership to provide emergency assistance for individuals who do not have the money to fill a medical prescription.
This program offers vouchers for purchase at Conney's Pharmacy, 736 Elm Street in Winnetka, for residents to purchase and drop off at the Township Office. Those vouchers are provided to individuals who find themselves in a financial crisis wherein they do not have money for a prescription needed immediately. There is no application that delays the process, so prescriptions can be collected when they are needed. Residents may also donate CVS or Walgreens gift cards for use in the Bridge the Gap program.
To discuss an emergency need, please contact Social Services Administrator Jeanne Winsted Rosser firstname.lastname@example.org or 847-446-8201.

Why Bridge the Gap?
This program was created partly in response to our residents who continually ask, "What can we do to help?" The Township staff are constantly amazed by the generosity of this community, and we were looking for a way to respond to citizens who genuinely wanted to participate in the process of assisting needy neighbors. At the same time, we recognized the need for a program to fill in the gap when clients came to the Township asking for assistance to fill a prescription at a time of crisis where no program currently existed to provide that type of emergency assistance. Hence, Bridge the Gap was created to match the altruism of residents with the needs of their neighbors.
Who Is Eligible?
Individuals, children or adults, who live within the Township are eligible.
How Does One Make A Donation?
Visit Conney's Pharmacy across the street from the Township, or go to any CVS or Walgreens. Purchase a Conney's Voucher(s) available in $25, $50 and $100 denominations or a CVS or Walgreens gift card for any amount. Bring those vouchers and gift cards to the Township at your convenience during business hours Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. They will be used at the discretion of Township social workers to assist needy individuals.
How Is The Program Administered?
Interested persons will be interviewed by Township social workers to determine need. Vouchers will be provided immediately to fill the prescription, and counseling will be provided in order to direct the applicant towards programs that could possibly deliver long-term assistance to avoid a future gap in funding to meet the medical need. Applicants may only use Bridge the Gap emergency medical assistance once in a six month period.
If you require any assistance, or have additional questions, please call the Township Office at 847-446-8202 Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. or email.
