The New Trier Township Summer Camp Financial Assistance Program provides assistance with payment for summer day camp for income eligible parents/guardians.
This program is designed to help offset the cost for services provided by an accredited summer day camp.
What is the Summer Day Camp Financial Assistance Program?
The Summer Day Camp Financial Assistance program provides assistance with payment for child care for income eligible parents/guardians. The purpose of the program is to enable working families to obtain quality, affordable child care while they are at work, school or job training. Families are expected to pay a portion of the expense.
Am I eligible for assistance?
To be eligible for assistance, you must:
· Have lawful custody of a child under age 13 who receives care in a licensed facility;
· Be a resident of New Trier Township
· Be working full or part-time; attending school; and/or are in job training,during the hours of the summer day camp progam
· Meet income guidelines. Compare your household income with the chart below. You may be eligible for assistance if your
income is less than or equal to the following limits:

How do I apply?
Applications for the Summer Day Camp Program are posted in February with a deadline in March.
How long will it take to review my application?
It may take 30-45 days to process your application. Avoid possible delays by submitting all the required documentation with your application.
What type of assistance can I expect to receive?
All applicants are expected to pay a portion of the expense. Financial assistance amounts vary and are based on the family’s personal situation, income, and cost of care provided.
Who qualifies as a licensed summer day camp provider?
The day camp program selected must be one of the following:
- State licensed day care provider with day camp
- Accredited Kindergarten or preschool day camp program
- Affiliated with either a school or park district day camp program
How is the day camp provider paid?
Providers are paid directly from New Trier Township. Parents/guardians are responsible for paying the balance.
How will I know if my application has been accepted or rejected?
All applicants are notified in writing of the status of their request.
Who administers this program?
The Financial Assistance Review committee is comprised of social service professionals. All information submitted to the committee remains highly confidential.
