1. Where is New Trier Township located?

New Trier Township is located along the shore of Lake Michigan, due north of Chicago's "Loop." The Township includes the Villages of:

• Glencoe
• Kenilworth
• Wilmette
• Winnetka

Portions of Glenview and Northfield are also included. A small unincorporated area of Winnetka is also withing the borders of New Trier Township.

2. What is the population of the Township?

New Trier Township serves a total of 56,000 residents from the Villages that comprise the Township.

3. How do I file a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request?

Illinois law requires all public records of New Trier Township be made available to any person for inspection or copying in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act (5 ILCS 140). Individuals wishing to request a public record from New Trier Township must do so in writing, (fax, email or typewritten letter), detailing the specific documents you are requesting to gain access. 4. What are the Township's hours?

New Trier Township is open to the public Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. We observe all Federal and nationally recognized holidays.

5. How do I learn more about the Township's services?

We have several communication channels, both traditional (print) and digital (online) media. Our Courier newsletter is delivered to all residential households within New Trier Township in Winter, Summer and Fall seasons of each year. A limited amount of paper copies are available at the Township office during normal business hours. We also publish electronic versions of the Courier on our website. Additionally, copies of the Courier can be found at area libraries and Village halls.

Every other Friday, we publish the New Trier Township Dispatch, an online newsletter covering highlights of current Township news, event information and articles about our services/grantee partners. You can sign-up for the Dispatch free of charge by visiting our website and providing your email address.

6. Can I get a U.S. passport at the Township Office?

7. Who do I speak with regarding my Cook County property tax bill?
